Guadalupe Solano Obituary

Guadalupe D. Solano, 72 TEMECULA -- Guadalupe Solano passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010. He was born June 2, 1938 in Mexico, son of Florentino and Maria Solano. Guadalupe was a construction laborer and a member of the Laborers' Union Local 89 and 1184. He enjoyed camping, BBQing, and spending time with his family. We will all miss his dry sense of humor. He especially loved his "ranch" where you would always find him adding his personal touch. He was a very humble man who truly loved the Lord. Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Helen L. Solano; son, Henry (Celia) Solano of Bakersfield, Calif.; step- daughter, Eva (Joe) Alvarado of Oceanside, Calif., and daughter, Linda (John) Driggs of Temecula, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren. There will be a viewing held between 5 and 8 p.m., Monday evening, November 1, at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, also at Eternal Hills, followed by a reception at the McKeon Center at San Luis Rey Mission, Oceanside. We are deeply thankful to Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties Hospice for providing love, care and compassion to Dad. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

Tia Helen, my deepest condolences on the passing of my Tío Solano on behalf of myself and my mom. Tío Solano was a wonderful man and he will surely be missed. I will miss his smile and kindness and I will always hold dearly the wonderful memories I have of him when my dad Lalo and mom would take me to visit Tia Helen, Tío Solano and Henry in Fallbrook. Thank you Tío Solano for your kindness, sincerity, and for the love you showed to my Tia Helen, Henry and Linda. May Lord bless you Tia Helen and guide you through this difficult time.

Grandpa was a very special person. He was the most wonderful, caring and most faithful man I've ever met in my whole life. Grandma Helen was his world. I am honestly truely blessed for having a grandpa like him. He was not only a grandfather to me, he was my second dad. I grew up with him for the first 6 years of my life, the best 6 years of my childhood. I would get up every morning at six a.m. To feed the dogs with him, and I'd Eat dinner with him every night, a flour tortilla with butter and a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade from the lemon tree. I will forever hold his memories with me in my heart. Grandpa taught me a lot of things. One thing he taught me is to be strong. And to always look forward in life. "la Vida es trabajar y cuando te bajes, levantate y sigue adelante" very wise words from him. That is what keeps me motivated everyday. I will miss him so very much but I am at peace, he is in a better place Now with god and cancerfree. I love you Soo much grandpa and I will never forget you. You will be in my heart forever.

your granddaughter,

Grandpa, Thank you for all the wonderful memories that I have been blessed to share with you. You were a loving and caring grandpa. I will always cherish the memory of your warm smile because I can't remember a time when I saw you frowning. I'll also remember how loving and compassionate you were with my Grandma. You were such a cute couple. I hope Grandpa, that you also knew how very much you were and are Loved! No good byes Grandpa, just We will see you someday when we are all called home with our Heavenly Father.

Dad, words can't express how you left a big void in our hearts, lives and families. You always had your way of showing us your love, approval and sometimes with a way only you can do, disapproval. We will try to carry on what you tried telling us to do...go forward and stay strong. I don't know how we'll face the days ahead or the holidays without you, but one thing without a doubt will help me, and that's that God truly blessed me and my family with a wonderful, loving Dad and grampa, and we will embrace those memories forever. Thank you Dad for your guidance, love and support. I will love you to my very end Dad. Tu hija, Linda
