Dorothy Louise Wright (nee White) TEMECULA -- "Dot" was born on February 28, 1920 in Nashville, Tenn., the only child of Ulyses Carter White and Elizabeth May "Lizzie" White (nee Parrish), both of whom were born in Tennessee. She passed away in her home in Temecula on Monday, November 29, 2010. On August 13, 1944, Dot married her childhood sweetheart, Leslie Edward "Les" Wright (also of Nashville) when he returned from serving overseas as a pilot during WWII. Their parents had met at Blakemore Methodist Church as they were both members there. While Les was off to war, Dot went to secretarial school and then to work for Dr. Harry Denman at The Upper Room Publishing House in Nashville. She left that job to become a full time mom/ homemaker/Air Force wife and did not return to work until her sons had left the nest. Her last job was with the Russell Stover Candy Co. in Lincoln, Nebr. Thanks to Leslie's Air Force career, Dorothy got to live in Germany for almost three years. There were also duty stations in South Carolina, Tennessee, Minnesota, and finally in Lincoln, Nebr. - where Les retired and they remained until returning to Nashville to care for "Lizzie" in her final years. Dot and Les were the proud and loving parents of Gary Edward Wright (65) of Temecula, Calif., and David Wright (57) of San Francisco, Calif. Both sons survive them. They are also survived by their grandson, Steven Lee Wright (39); and their granddaughter, Kathleen Lyudmila Wright (16). They were predeceased by their granddaughter, Leslie; and great-granddaughter, Thea. Their vows were "until death us do part" and they kept that oath through an Air Force career and beyond, for almost 55 years of marriage, until Les (80) was taken from her on June 10, 1999 in Gilroy, Calif. Dorothy will be laid to rest, her arms wrapped around the urn containing the ashes of her loving husband, on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Eternal Hills Cemetery, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, Calif. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Rabbi Barney Kasdan of Kehilat Ariel Messianic Synagogue will officiate. Sign the Guest Book online
