Iris Ferguson Obituary

Iris W. Ferguson, 89 SAN MARCOS -- Iris W. Stites Ferguson, "Neta," was born in Cabool, Mo., eldest of five children born to Virgil and Fern (Gladden) Rust. Neta and husband, Kelly J. Stites, traveled extensively, both during Kelly's time in the Marine Corps as well as for pleasure. They settled in North County and Neta worked as a banker in Vista before her retirement. Neta remarried Edwin J. Ferguson in 2001 and they enjoyed two happy years of marriage before Ed's death in 2003. Neta was a loyal and generous person, a unique character and a die-hard Padres fan. She will be greatly missed. Neta is survived by her sister, Virginia Nash; nephew J.D. Nash and his wife, Jerri; grand- nephew M.J. Nash; stepdaughter, Donna Kean and her husband Doug; and step- granddaughter, Amy Arroyo. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
