Loved watching him as a kid. Snowman and Fred. Forty plus years later. Still love it. Along with his singing. Bringing a whole new way to playing a guitar to country music. A great voice and good looks helps. I still laugh at the certain expressions that he'd make. Thank you for the wonderful memories. As you continue to live on. May the roads remain clear for you Snowman.

I'm a 15 year old girl, I've always loved Smokey & The Bandit & his other movies but Smokey & The Bandit 1, 2 & 3 were my all time favorites. A quote from the obituary, which is, "Reynolds gave him a shiny black 1980 Trans Am like the one they used in "Smokey and the Bandit." This one hit home to me. Why? I didn't even know the guy lol. Why would I show feelings towards it? I loved him like they were related to me. Okay, enough of my sob story. That's all.

I was very blessed to be visiting my aunt right after I graduated from high school..she took me to the Grand Ole Opry to see a taping of a show to be aired on television in September of 1979..we got there early and got front row seats...Jerry was the emcee and between tapings I got up my nerve and went up to the stage and looked up at him..he looked down at me and gave that award winning smile....I asked to shake his hand and he said Why sure and even gave me his autograph which I still have to this day..I loved him and will never forget his smile at that moment just for me!

RIP Mr. Jerry Reed ✝
I enjoyed your fun southern personality and musical artistic work. Plus you being in Smokey and the Bandit movie was a great addition, you and that beautiful bassist hound dog was a match ! It added greatly to the movie for me. Me and Dad/family love the bassist hound dogs. Plus I saw that good video in late 1970s or early 1980s, you and Glen Campbell at that park/lake, as he sang, southern nights. Its a good one/video. Thanks for your work in American cinema movies and your contribution to southern American country music. My condolences to the family and friends to Mr. Jerry Reed for your loss.

Jerry Reed was one of my favorite actors. I was never fond of country western music, but I liked Jerry's music. I also liked him in movies. There were a couple of times he played the part of a 'bad guy', but it didn't fit him. He wasn't a bad guy. He was only 8 years older than me. I heard he was a 'real' truck driver, but I don't know if that's true. I drove an 18-wheeler for 22 years interstate. I love horses and have ridden since I was 10 years old. God Bless you, Jerry. I'll see you in Heaven one day.

You and now Burt both in the skies blazing trails. Bandit running blocker for 400 cases of beer! LOL. Prelude to the movie, "SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT"! A classic in it itself! No movie could ever touch that movie. I have seen that movie not only when it first came in the theaters as a little kid. I also own the DVD. I couldn't even count on my fingers and toes the times, I have watched that movie, and I will never get rid of that. If it messes up, I will get another, I will always own a copy of that movie. Always! I even have your MP3, "East Bown and Down"! All I can say is, "WOW"! I am blown away by your accomplishments, but saddened that your gone so soon. My thoughts and prayers still go out to your family.

I started listening to Jerry a couple of years back when I was unemployed, and was listening to Pandora Radio while looking for work. At the time I came to realize what a fantastic musician he was (along with being a good actor). He is now one of my favorite artists that I listen to on a daily basis.
Thank you Jerry Reed, for the music and memories. God Bless.
