Prayers and Condolences to his family. Andrew was definitely a genuine person. We talked on numerous occasions. He would always say, I know all your folks in Stanton, them McLin's (Whom Ive never met). I only know the ones here in Dyersburg. He would say, I'm going to take you down there so you can meet your folks. He will truly be missed.

Mr. Andrew Reed
His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away
His journey just begun.
Life holds so many secrets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there’s no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost
And he was loved so very much.
The year 1945, and the United States were in chaos. But in the midst of chaos, racial tensions and turmoil, in the small southern town of Brownsville, Tennessee, God sent a piece of heaven down into the arms of Carrie Lee and Wiley Reed, the birth of their third child (Andrew Louis) on March 31, 1945, with thanksgiving. As a child, he was eccentric, inquisitive, and introspective. He easily adapted to new situations, and never a stranger to a warm smile. His aesthetic sensibilities allowed him to develop great building skills at an early age. He had impeccable taste and recognized exceptional quality. He was an achiever and has excelled at every endeavor. Andrew Reed lived life without boundaries, using his strength to shatter stereotypes and protest social injustices. He has never been threatened by the ills of society, which may inhibit the free spirit of a young black man. Upon graduating from Carver High School, he worked numerous jobs. Andrew lived each day fully. He was blessed with unconditional love, encouragement, and unselfish support of his parents, in-laws, and family, which allowed him to pursue and accomplish his goals. Andrew served as an inspiration for his family and friends. He was a positive spirit with a generous smile who lived to feed his old soul.
On Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026, Andrew peacefully left the chaotic streets of Dyersburg, Tennessee to begin his final journey back to the loving, all knowing, infinite Creator who divinely formed him in his mother’s womb.
