Post: #1Dear Alexander McQueen
Dear Alexander McQueen,
I've just discovered your designs. I wanted to write to you and I hope this letter reaches you, wherever you are, to tell you that I was feeling like there was nothing left in life. I was disheartened by fakes and frauds but you Alexander, were the real deal. So I'm selling my Italian designer couch, because I can't wear it. I'm selling my crocodile paw bookends, because I can't wear them. I'm turning to you, dear Alexander, because you knew what was inside a woman's heart and your clothes show what was inside yours.
Angels and demons. They're inside everyone but your draped silk blouse has conquered my world and lifted me to a higher place where demons don't exist.

I hope you are now with your mother and may you rest in peace. We do tend to lose great talent so early in their lives. Glad your designs will live on.

For Alexander...
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

My deepest condolences are with you in your time of grief. May you continue to find comfort in the memories that you all shared together and get comfort from knowing one day Sickness will be no more and Death will be a thing of the past. In times of grief such as these, I find it comforting to meditate on the words found in the Holy Writings at Job 14:14, 15. Job expressed his faith that God would bring him back to life if he should fall asleep in death, "All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, Until my relief comes. You will call, and I myself shall answer you." The scriptures indicate that it is possible to reunite with your loved one in the near future, right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. Psalms 37:10, 11 offers us this promise. My sincere condolences to your entire family.

Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony: we owe McQueen unending gratitude for gracing this world with even just a glimpse of this man's turbulent, raw, and most importantly, boundless imagination -- all of which is but an interlude for the rest of us, who managed to gather by the wayside, slackjawed as McQueen's combustive genius unapologetically singed through fashion paradigms becoming more art and less attire... until it was suddenly put out.

When I was about 11 my love of fashion began. But it was not until the spring 2001 season, when I was about 13, that my love truly blossomed into what it is today. That love came from my discovery of one particular designer- Alexander McQueen. His theatrical shows were exactly what I was looking for from design. I still watch his insane asylum show because I find it so beautiful, not to mention his gorgeous Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 shows, which remain some of my favorite shows ever. I hoped to produce shows as amazing as his someday. Today my first and dearest fashion love is gone and my heart is absolutely broken. His show is one of the first I check out every season and this season will feel so empty without him there.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
