Thank you Mr Schwartz, for all the years of entertainment, both Gilligans island and The Brady Bunch. I only wish my grandchildren could have the same kind of wholesome tv shows as I had when I was growing up. Thank you Thank you

The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island are great shows. I am a young woman in my twenties, but my family and I still watch the re-runs of those shows. These shows are funny, and wholesome something that is a rarity in television today. I know that Mr. Schwartz will be greatly missed by his family and friends. I hope that the family finds comfort from the Bible in particular the scripture at Job 14:14-15. My prayers are with the family, and God bless.

I had the great good fortune to attend a panel discussion with the cast of Gilligan's Island in the mid 1980's. What a nice and very professional group of actors. Mr. Schwartz was very friendly and kind to all of the children who were in awe of their TV idols. I am sure they have been asked the same questions thousands of times but as each person raised their hand, everyone in the group answered as if it had been the first. I deeply admired Mr. Schwarts as he insisted his children all go to college and get degrees before they pursue careers in show business. Classy family. Thanks very much for the smiles. Shalom

Gilligan's Island and Brady Bunch will live on in the hearts of us baby boomers. I would like to share two stories related to Gilligan's Island. First, my sister lost her husband to cancer when he was just 24 years old, leaving her a widow at age 20 with a baby girl to raise alone. For a time she moved back home with my parents and me. One afternoon, my sister and I were watching the show, and it was the one where Gilligan said to Mrs. Howell: "This time I got to the nose before I blew it!" My sister let out a loud laugh that I hadn't heard from her since she lost her husband. Second, I married into an abusive relationship. Watching GI was one of the times I actually laughed and felt good about myself. I also love Brady Bunch and it's time tested standards, which are nearly non-existent in today's television shows. Farewell, Mr. Schwartz. God bless your family, and may you make 'em laugh in heaven.

I believe the reason the professional critics did not like the show was because they were rating the comedy. There were many facets to the shows though, that spoke to others, like family values, plausible plots, and so on. Professional critics don't pay me to laugh. It comes from the heart. I never paid a penny for any of these shows, and yet I obtained great value. I did not get what I paid for in these shows. I paid nothing and got everything. What a great value. How many millions were taught the value of togetherness and happiness by these shows? By the way, those theme songs, I think were written my Mr. Shwartz. And they have a very outstanding melody and entertaining accompanying lyrics. Creative genius shared with milliions. Thank you very much for all you created and shared with the world.

I loved both Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch. I still stop to watch either when I channel surf across them. When I was little, I'd come home from grade school, Grandmother would have my favorite meal - salmon, rich and homemade biscuits - and I would sit in front of the television and watch the antics of Gilligan. Good times.

Sherwood Schwartz has the same hope as the wise man Job did. He asked: “If an able-bodied man dies can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, until my relief comes. You will call, and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning." Like Job we can all look forward to a time when God will call and we will answer.

Mr Schwartz ur the reason i have so many memories of those wonderful shows. it was through them, that i had a happy childhood. and i thank u for all of them. u will be missed by many. GOD has given u the gift of laughter thru ur shows. otherwise my childhood would have been one of the worst. i would laugh so hard, during those shows, that i would wind up crying. that is how much those shows meant to me. My condolences to the Schwartz family. I met Sherwood and his wife on a tour of Europe back in the 1980's and was fortunate enough to have dinner with them one evening. I will never forget how delightful he was, and funny! He was one of those few people who could make you feel as if you were his oldest friend! I knew he was famous, and I was thrilled to meet him, but he was not affected or pompous in the least.
May God bless Sherwood Schwartz, he gave us all so many laughs and good times!

There isn't a childhood memory of television that doesn't have some reference to the Brady Bunch (I too am a middle child and could relate to poor Jan). Though in retrospect it may appear to be fluffy and unrealistic, the Brady family did a lot for young people and Mr. Schwartz had a hand in that. The world suffers a loss today. To the Schwartz family and friends, my condolences for your loss. Atlanta, Georgia
