To Neil
You were such a hero to so many young men of my generation. We watched the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts in awe. We also watched the horror of Apollo 1, and the crowning glory of the Apollo 11 crew. Your ability to inspire a generation can never be measured but the effects of your life's work and achievements will last forever.
May God hold you in His hands and bring you to heights far beyond the lunar surface.

I was one of the 600 million watching the moon landing. It was the greatest achievement I had witnessed and seen mankind achieve having been born in 1943. The atomic bomb tests we saw on TV in the 1950s were the other most memorable achievements. This must be one of the longest guest books on record. You will always be remembered.
My visit to Cape Kennedy to see a space shuttle launch in 1987 was another thrill in my memory. THANKS for everything you did in the Space Race to the Moon!

I remember the time when I met Neil. It was in 1963 shortly after his son's birth, when he flew a C47 aircraft up to Ely, Nv (High Range Tracking Station) to deliever supplies to us. We operated one of the tracking stations for the X-15 program and he was one of the test pilots. He passed out cigars and candy bars celebrating the birth of a son. I wish I had saved the cigar. But I cherish the NASA autographed picture of Neil and the other X-15 pilots. He will be greatly missed by all.

Neil Armstrong has been my hero since 1969 and each year his courage and personal manners have influenced me as a normal citizen. This man was only second to George Washington as my personal hero. Good bless his elegance, wonderful character, manners, heroism, faith in America, and as a model for all Americans. Will any American show such courage again? I pray for someone who can move Americans as the Honorable Neil Armstrong did.
I'm now 70 years old and will do anything to keep our Country a model for all the World's citizens. Neil Armstrong is the model for all of us.
God Bless Neil Armstrong.

The Umiverse is one of the most wonderful things that God has created. And for Mr. Armstrong to have a part in seeing that is super wonderfull. He experienced something that few people will ever experience. I know he must have seen God in a way that done of us will ever see Him. Rest in peace Mr. Armstrong and wait until you are awaken to see what God really has in store for you and the rest of mankind, May God comfort the family in their time of sorrow.

Neil, I watched wide eyed while you stepped onto the surface of the Moon. I was thinking of how you and Buzz were two of the bravest men on any planet or moon. He stepped out into an unknown place
As far as we'd ever been in space....
Not knowing if he would live or die
The world will never forget that cry...
"One small step for man....a giant step for mankind"
It rang loud as it implanted in our mind.
It was a vast domain, yet unexplored
But brave men ventured where none had before.
Our world would never be the same...
So we proudly give tribute to this fallen name.
Astronaut Armstrong,walk on,fly high...
Wave once or twice as you pass the sky.
One day we will surely meet...
And gold we'll tread beneath our feet.
~Rest in Peace~

When Neil Armstong set foot on the moon and famously said, "a giant step for mankind", I was a student privileged to be watching on TV in Vienna while on a college kids seminar around western and eastern Europe. The next day after Neil landed, we flew to Moscow, the then capital of the USSR. On on a subway car in Moscow I sat across from an elderly kerchiefed woman. She said, "Me Russki, you?" I replied, "Americanski." She said, "Yay Armstrong!" Her joy and wisdom made me a planet earth citizen on the spot. Thank you Neil. Rest in the peace that you suggested to the world in your humility on your landing.
Sincerely,

There are times when the right words are hard to find; this is one of them. For those of us who were alive in 1969 we will always remember how proud we were of the entire NASA team, and especially the Apollo 11 astronauts. It goes without saying that we were all proud to be citizens of the USA - - and always will be proud.
Sympathy to his family whose memories go well beyond the moon landing.

I remember running to meet Neil Armstrong years ago, when I was hugely pregnant with my first child. How charming and wonderful he was! My husband asked if we could all have a picture together, and Neil agreed. Years later, my children carried that picture everywhere, always telling the story of how it came to be.
We wouldn't let Neil pay for the service that we gave him, at our little Midwest dealership--We just wanted him to know how thankful we were for all he and his family had sacrificed for America. That made him smile!
The entire Oliver C. Joseph Family will look up at tonight's Blue Moon and send loving prayers to Neil, our Great American Hero. He will Never be forgotten. God Bless and Godspeed!

I grew up in those amazing days of Apollo. Neil Armstrong, you are such a hero to me, for the skill and courage you displayed, and even more for the humble way that you dealt with the situation that all that fame placed you in. All true Americans have lost a piece of themselves with your passing.
You are the best that any of us can hope to be. May your journey again be safe as you slip the surly bonds of Earth to touch the face of God.

To the family of Neil Armstrong,
Our sympathy for the loss of a great American. We have always felt a special connection to Mr. Armstong as his father was a friend of my grandfather's (John Carl Waidner of Columbus, OH) and was a pall bearer at his funeral. It is so comforting to know that even though we miss them terribly, they are all together now. We are praying for courage and peace for your family.

I was 9 years old when I stepped into my back yard in Melbourne, Florida to witness Apollo 11 blast off from KSC. I saw you take your first footsteps on the surface of the Moon. You became not only my hero, but everyone who had the imagination to dream. I am now 52 and work at the very building that launched you into space so many years ago. It shows that a child's dream can become a reality and it was all because you took that first step for all of us. God bless you Commander Armstrong and thank you. ; Wink!
