Donald Claudy Obituary

CLAUDY--Donald E., age 78, of Greenwich, CT, died September 20. Born in New York City, the only child of the late Albert C. and Gertrude Kebel Claudy, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School and Deep Springs Junior College, California. He received an A.B. with Distinction in Government from Cornell University and an L.L.B. with Distinction from Cornell Law School. He served as First Lieutenant at the U.S. Air Force Material Command, near Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Claudy was Associate at Covington & Burling, Washington, D.C., and then Assistant Counsel at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio. For most of his career he worked with Standard Oil of New Jersey (later Exxon) as Senior Counsel, at headquarters in New York. Mr. Claudy volunteered as an executive recruiter with International Executive Service Corps, Stamford, CT. He served as trustee and president of the Telluride Association, a trust providing scholarships to qualified students at Deep Springs and at Cornell. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Osborne Claudy, his daughter Lisa Claudy Fleischman, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Peter H. O. Claudy. The memorial service is 11am, September 29 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Greenwich.
