Golfing With Clint

Shortly after Clint retired from service to his country, we converged on Puerto Rico; he as the
new leader at the V'Soske Shops, and I as his deputy in the scheme of
things. As the youngest of five sons, I was hapy to have him as my older brother and good companion.
We took advantage of a week-end to circumvent the Island and have a good talk about many things. At Ramey Field, old home of the Air Force,he suggested we do some golf.
Now, I realized that he had a jump on me there with his 1940's Bermuda Navy start, and was game to try. I
thumped the club along the grass
while his ball soared. My handicap
was the hight of the day, and Clint took it all in stride.
He did not criticise or draw attention to my thumping along and
I recall that experience with a sense of love that only brothers can have. I was never a good golfer,
and he never reminded me of that.
His message is to look for the best
in each of us. He lived it.
....Doug
