Arthur Falkenstein Obituary

FALKENSTEIN--Arthur. Beloved and devoted husband of Marianne for 58 years; loving father of Peter and Jane and son-in-law Andrew Schachter, and proud grandfather of Joshua and Daniel, passed away on November 22nd, 2007, after a full and happy life. Those who met him were drawn to him by his amazingly warm and caring personality. Born April 30, 1924 in Plauen, Germany, he came to the United States at the age of 15. Arthur enjoyed a long and successful career as a CPA, and he devoted himself in every way to Congregation Habonim, founded by Holocaust survivors. His twinkling eyes, joyous smile, and loving spirit will always be with us. The funeral will take place on Monday, November 26, at 12:45pm at "The Riverside" 76th St. and Amsterdam Ave. Shiva will be held at the family home on November 26, 27, and 28 from 6-9pm. The family will also receive visitors on November 27 and 28 from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Habonim, 44 W. 66th St, NY, NY or The Leo Baeck Institute, 15 W. 16th St., NY, NY 10011.
