Jeffrey Owen Jones

JONES--Jeffrey Owen, 63, formerly of Westport, CT, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 in Rochester, NY. Jones was a writer/producer and a teacher of film and animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated from Staples High School in 1962; he was captain of the football team and president of the senior class. He was a 1966 graduate of Williams College (where he received the Grovesnor Cup as the outstanding Senior), a graduate of the Middlebury Foreign Language School and a Fulbright Scholar. In 1997, he won an EMMY in New York for Outstanding Fine Arts Programming. He is survived by wife Ellen Hyman Jones, son Eli Owen Jones, brothers Robert Haydon Jones of Westport, Christopher Jones of Manhattan, and sisters Jeremy Jones of Philadelphia, Jude Anne Jones and Pamela Cathlyn Jones of Westport. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 30, 2007, at 3pm at the Church of the Assumption, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport.
