We only met Leon once, when he was already in his 80s and had come to the Washington D.C. area to see Ron and his family. Leon impressed us with his energy, wit, and wealth of fascinating anecdotes.
Leon had been planning to move to the D.C. area to be closer to Ron. We were looking forward getting to know him better after that move, but his life ended before it could take place.
We are saddened by Leon’s death and offer our deepest sympathy in your loss to Ron, Cathy, Julie, Elaine, and to Leon's other family members and friends.

Leon,
The memories I have of you I’ll always keep in my mind and heart. For you showed me that you can accomplish anything no matter the age. You where an inspiration too many of us at the Armory Technology & Learning Center where we met as teacher, student and friend. Your enthusiasm for learning how to use the computer, search the internet, send –email, all because you wanted to keep in touch with your family, characterizes your family values.
Farewell “Old Men River” as you used to say when entering the Center. You will be missed.
God bless your soul.

Uncle Leon’s greatness was his fervent belief in human decency. He held firm to a future where fairness, tolerance, kindness and compassion would be offered and received by all.
