To the Gilbert family
Kimberly, Gerry and I were shocked at learning the news about Zena. Our family's memories of Zena are so strong and lasting-- all the years we spent together in the Hamptons, at Topping and at horse shows around Long Island with our daughters as they were growing up. Zena--so lovely and loving, generous and thoughtful-- was part of some of the happiest and most precious moments of our lives. It is hard to believe she is gone. She will always be present in our hearts and thoughts.

Dear Dick:
I am writing on behalf of my mother, Irene Margules. She kept in touch with Zena for a very long time even after the passing of your parents. She had last spoken to her sometime late last year. My mother is very sad and wishes you her love and to let you know that you were a wonderful husband and to love your memories. She asks that if you are ever back in Florida to please please contact her. My thoughts are with your family also as I was a small girl at the time I met you but have wonderful memories of lots of stories.

Dear Richard and Family of Zena,
My wife Kathi, our daughter, Melissa and I visited with Zena in 1993 in New York City where she graciously took the time to spend with us and to invite us to her apartment, to meet her twin girls and for a nice dinner at a local Italian restaurant. I am originally from the Pribilof Islands(St. George) and knew Zena's father and mother, especally during their service at St. Spiridon Cathedral in Seattle where we currently live and where we have been close friends with her extended family for many years. Much has happened over the years and we have always kept Zena in our thoughts through the events and passing years. We will remember her quiet graciousness. May you continue to be blessed at this time and always with the peace and love with which Zena has graced us all.
Memory Eternal!

Thirty one years ago, I met Zena. Piama and Alex were classmates with my son, Jonathan, at the Episcopal School. I met Richard, who, it turned out, graduated from the same high school as I did. I will never forget when Zena and Richard showed me the ZENA JEANS commercial, with the Bo Derek look-alike, emerging from the water! We had fun..we became friends...but unfortunately lost contact. ANd when I learned of her passing, I felt so sad; so many memories flashed before me...of her lovely, gracious mannerisms. It all seems like just yesterday...
And now, Heaven has gained one more angel.
My heartfelt condolences to Richard, Piama, Alex, Chris and Lindsay.
