On Nov. 25, 1988, Jack married his childhood sweetheart, Miriam Ruth DuBois, in Chatham, Ontario, and they moved to Orange City in 1993. He operated a dragline in Florida for eight winters, spending his summers building a small home in Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam Babcock, Orange City; son, Robert Babcock, Calgary, Alberta; seven daughters, Christine Elizabeth Bird, London, Ontario, Bobby Bisson, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Tabatha Hamel, Marathon, Ontario, Alida Van Braeden, Edmonton, Alberta, Linda Denmark, Yellville, Ark., Wendy Hoffman, Farmington, N.M., and Juanita Gibney, Summerland, British Columbia; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. My sincere condolences to all Jack's loved ones. Jack was my uncle, and my mother Lillian Matilda Babcock's youngest brother, who she loved dearly. My mother Lillian and Jack were a lot alike in appearance and ways. We saw him every few years as children when he would visit us at our homes in military bases across Canada, and he was loved by us. My mother, and my father George W. Guy, are now dead, but had a lifelong relationship with her 7 Babcock brothers and sisters from Alberta. My dad George W. Guy served overseas with the Babcock brothers during WWII, while my mom stayed in Kingston to help support her family, and send money home to Peacehaven homestead in Highpraire..(and my dad searved in WWII with his own father and brother, sisters from his military family from Kingston, as my dad was a career soldier in the RCHA Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. My grandmother Pheobe Babcock Jack's mother loved Miriam very much since she was a youth and all her life, a strong christian faith shared with each other. My family of 5 drove from Quebec, and Ontario every few summers to High Prairie Alta to visit my moms parents, brothers Bill, Lewis, Frank, Lloyd, Jack, and sister June and their spouses and children at the Peacehaven Homestead. I loved the homestead with its 1900 pioneer way of life. Miriam was well known in fond memories, told me by my mother, and treasures painting of the homestead. SADLY THO IN THIS TERRIBLE LOSS TODAY, I SEND MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF JACKS LOVED ONES. My sympathy to Miriam for her stress in caring for Jack during his last day's.. and my hope her faith will give her strength to carry on.. from Miriam's descriptions of Jack's illness, suffering, and death, must have been very difficult for him, and for her caring for him, but I AM GLAD he is free of that pain, and I hope and pray he is in heaven with the Lord, God, his spirit at peace, someday reunited to his own mother and father. I am glad his illness and suffering is over for him. Sincere sympathy to his son Bobby (Robert) Babcock, and daughter Chrissy (Christine) Babcock, and their children, all his loved ones, and to his childhood sweetheart, missionary, and second wife Miriam Du Bois Babcock. Sincerely Judith Lynn (Babcock mmn) Guy Herd Mander, his sister Lillian's child. Judith
