Dorothy ROSE Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Louise Rose was born July 24, 1929, to the late Libert and Fannie Fletcher. She departed this life Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at the Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Lee Rose.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother-in-law, Annie Bell Turner; five daughters, Rebekah Ward, Betty Jean Garland (William), both of Lynchburg, Martha Feliciano (Alvin) of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Thomas of Madison Heights and Rojina Tinsley (James) of Columbia, Md.; a beloved niece whom she raised as a daughter, Eunice "Niecey" Johnson of Chatham; two sons, Van Oscar Rose (Lettrelle) of Lynchburg and Jessee Rose (Robin) of Amherst; two brothers; five sisters; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Mr. Richard Grooms; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at St. Peters Baptist Church, with the Rev. Margaret P.C. Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is receiving friends and the cortege will assemble at 330 Toytown Road, Amherst. Condolences can be

mrs rose will be sadly missed, she was like a mother to me i always liked going down to amherst county i know she had a good meal cooking and this was how i learn about what was a farm was really about
