J. TAYLOR Obituary

J. Kenneth Taylor

J. Kenneth Taylor of Lynchburg, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008.

Mr. Taylor was the son of Jasper J. Taylor and Lula Mae Stevens Taylor of Halifax County.

Mr. Taylor proudly served his country in World War II in the Fifth U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church and Hill City Masonic Lodge #183.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Guthrie Taylor; his children, Joan Taylor Cocke and her husband, John Cocke, of Lynchburg and Dawn Taylor Dixon and her husband, Gordon A. Dixon, of Wilmington, N.C.; his grandchildren, Lisa Cocke Bradley and her husband, Scott Bradley, of Louisburg, N.C., J. Andrew Cocke and his wife, Laura Cocke, of Arlington, D. Breck Dixon of Austin, Texas, and Sean M. Dixon of Fort Worth, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Tanner S. Bradley and Cameron T. Bradley of Louisburg, N.C.

He is also survived by a sister, Nancy Taylor Jones of Red House, and a brother, Bobby A. Taylor of Ashland. He was predeceased by his brothers, Casey M. Taylor, Jasper J. Taylor Jr., Hubert A. Taylor and J. Keith Taylor, and a sister, Therese Taylor Armstrong.
