Evelyn HONEYCUTT Obituary
Evelyn Estelle Blackwelder Honeycutt, 87, of Red House Road, Appomattox, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Medical Care Center. She and her husband, Robert McLean Honeycutt, would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on Sept. 16 of this year.
Born in Rowan County, N.C., Evelyn was a daughter of the late James Vance and Effie Christie Blackwelder. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Evelyn was known for her good country cooking, canning, chicken and dumplings, and coconut cakes.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Faye Stratton and her husband, Thelbert, of Appomattox, Kay Jordan of Richmond and Gay Cole and her husband, Johnny, of Appomattox; two sisters, Sara B. Bostian of Mooresville, N.C., and Hilda B. Hagans of Salisbury, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Steven LeGrand Stratton and Jennifer Lynne Jordan, five brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 10, 2008, at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Dear Uncle Rob, Faye, Kaye, Gaye & families,
I am very sorry that we could not come for Aunt Evelyn's funeral. that it's self left and very empty spot in my heart. I remember how precious my memories are of those who took the time to come when mother passed to God's eternal care.
we will continue to hold you up in prayer. God will meet every need as each day comes.

To the Family: I am so Sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Honeycutt. I had taken care of Mrs. Honeycutt for a few months in 2007, when she had first come out of the Nursing Home. I had been going to her home, until a few issues came about. But, Mrs. Honeycutt, herself, was a very sweet lady. I will never forget that she cried when I told her, I wasn't going to be able to come back.
