dearest sandy & rob,
how do i tell you how much i loved bobby? i remember our laughs & funny conversation 'til almost midnight in may. mom finally left us to "giggle" alone and went to bed. i'll always treasure the day, i looked out my kitchen window & saw this "handsome man" driving up with his left hand on the steering wheel & holding the beautiful cut flower arrangement in his right hand-only to tell me he loved me! special moments like these-i pray will bring you comfort and smiles as we attempt to get through all of this together as a family that loves you and will always be there for the two of you...knowing how bobby is looking down saying:"i wish their tears would go away" knowing he's walking the streets of gold and reminiscing with his family above. think of how he would like to encourage you and rob to rejoice in his passing as God is taking special care of him. as he carried the cross in his pocket with faith & grace inscribed on the back-that's what he wanted to tell both of you as he entered the Gates of Heaven. he didn't need to leave a note-his message is as he left it! "Grace & Faith." now is the time for you & rob to continue to ask God to take care of you..."as he always did so faithfully!" he loved the two of you more than life!!! he wants you to remember him with a smile and a laugh at all the fish he caught! that will keep him smiling, as he enjoys his new life with Christ-something so wonderful, "we" can only imagine. please know how much we love you and rob as "he did," & we'll make him proud of us...through it all.
forever yours,
your sister mabel & brenda

Dear Family,
It is always hard to be so far away when sadness comes. Please know that you are all in my heart,my thoughts and prayers. I have been gone from Virginia for many years but Bobby was such a help to my Dad,Dewey, at his car wash in Lynchburg. My last picture of Bobby was when he visited my parents in Lynchburg before I moved them west. And I saw him again briefly at my parents service in Feb.in Rustburg. Take care of each other, give extra hugs for me and know that distance does not lessen the hurt when a family member is lost. Love to all of you.

Timmy & his late Daddy, Grover, were
great fishing & hunting buddies of Booby's. We have many good memories of him sitting at our kitchen table telling stories. We loved him as part of the family. You are in our hearts and in our prayers.

I will always remember him walking down from Rustburg Mt. with my son in his arms after he had wandered off. I loved him then, and always did. Through the years he became a dear friend, not only to me but my sons as well. I will always treasure his memory, and his friendship.
My heart is with you all.

My heartfelt sympathy to you all. Bobby was a great friend to my brother, Rory Dunn, of Rustburg. They fished together many times and watched many Nascar races.
He will be missed.
