Melvin CLARK Obituary
Melvin Joseph Clark, 99, of Springfield, Ohio, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. He was the son of Josie and James Clark, born in Columbus, Ohio, on July 20, 1909. He was preceded in death by many siblings, and is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Kay Winters of Springfield, Ohio, and a son, Joe Lynn Clark of Lynchburg, and their families.
He had degrees from Capital University and The Ohio State University. His life was spent in secondary school administration in Florida and Ohio. He served proudly as a U.S. Naval officer during World War II. He loved sports, and was an avid horticulturist with a special interest in orchid culture and tree grafting.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Enon United Methodist Church, Enon, Ohio.
