Zack Phillips Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Zack W. Phillips, 92, of Bunting Drive, North Augusta, South Carolina, who entered into rest on Friday, August 29, 2008, was conducted 11 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2008, at the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Dr. Robert F. Fuller Jr. and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiated. Interment was held at Pineview Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Phillips was a native of Wintergreen, Virginia, having made North Augusta his home for the past 56 years. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church where he had served as a former Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member and Past Master of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 AFM for 65 years, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite of the Valley of Aiken and Columbia, a member of the York Bodies of Aiken and Past Patron of the Golden Glow Chapter #76 Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Phillips was retired from the E. I. DuPont Company of the Savannah River Plant and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #150.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eleanor C. Phillips; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Diane Phillips of Inman, South Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Candace and Steven Bigg, Aiken and Melissa and Tommy Purvis of Graniteville, South Carolina; four sisters, Louise Wade, Dorothy Revercomb, Patsy Higginbotham and Elizabeth Lybarger, all of Afton, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Simmons, Kevin Simmons, Rebecca Massie, David Simmons, Gregory Simmons, Steven Purvis and Phillip Purvis; 11 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 AFM. Active pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1101 Carolina Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008.

I miss my Grandad alot and will forever miss him.I am so proud to be a part of the family that he raised.I am proud of the man he was and will try to fill his shoes,even though they will be hard to fill I will try my best to do.I want to make you all as proud of me as we are of Zack.
