Robert Steven "JR" Martin Jr. LYNDHURST
Robert Steven "JR" Martin Jr., 49, of Lyndhurst, died Sunday, September 7, 2008, from injur-ies of a motorcycle accident.
Born May 22, 1959, in Staun-ton, he was a son of Robert Steven Sr. and Jody Rosemary (Oelshlagel) Martin.
He was employed as an auto body technician for Baugher Chevrolet-Buick of Waynes-boro, was an avid sportsman, enjoyed restoring cars, riding his motorcycle and going to bike week with his friends in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In addition to his mother of Lyndhurst, survivors include a son, Robert Steven "Russ" Mar-tin III of Waynesboro; a broth-er, Fred Arthur Martin and his wife, Rebecca, of Fishersville; a sister, Rosemary Ann Martin of Stuarts Draft; paternal grandmother, Ethel B. Martin of Westfield, Indiana; two nephews, Matthew Stephen Martin, Zachary David Propst; three nieces, Jodie Ann Propst, Brittany McKenzie Martin and Sarah Olivia Propst.
He also leaves many special close friends.
A funeral service will be con-ducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Rey-nolds Hamrick Funeral Home, by the Reverend Cam Carte, assisted by Charles Ramsey. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Chuck Gray, Mike Floyd, Matt-hew Martin, John Baugher, Doug Ramsey, Mark Ramsey, Danny Pleasants and Dave Garber.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Propst, Ricky Hepler, Derrer Seal, Doug Cline, Jimmy Gray and Dennis Harlow.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the funeral home.
The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
