Tara had best laugh ever.
I missed an inservice once and she said no worries. We sat outside n finished the lesson over coffee.
Great lady and friend.
Everytime I go to my house in Highland lakes I think of her.

Happy Birthday Tara! You always were one of my favorite people (I used to tease my brother that he should marry you so we could be SIL)...funny, caring, loving, always smiling & laughing...that is how I will always remember you! The last time I saw you, you were pregnant and happy as could be...all smiles!!! It was obvious that you were thrilled to be mommy:) I don't remember a time you weren't smiling, you could even hear it in your voice on the phone....pretty amazing. I think we'd all agree that you had an awesome smile and laugh BUT most of all you knew how to have fun and enjoy life! A lesson you taught us all...love and miss you Tara!!!

Another St. Patrick's Day, your last one with us was also the last time I saw you - what a great lasting memory... you dancing with abandon, Irish eyes smiling and that laugh of yours pealing over the music. And of course , that look of "what? you're leaving? the fun's JUST begun!"
Tear it up tomorrow Tara - miss you my friend <3 Randi

OK so yesterday morning on Tara's birthday my antique hand crank victrola all of a sudden starts to play out of nowhere(my husband, Tara's brother, is my witness) ... nobody was near it, nobody cranked it and nobody pulled the arm and needle over to the record as would have to be done for it to play and yet it went on and the record on the victrola was "When Irish Eyes are Smiling"! I am going to have to assume from this that her Irish eyes are still smiling and that she wants us to party on without her. Tara as the song states-"You stole our heart away"! We love and miss you more than words can say...you never let us down.
Happy Birthday my friend.

All memories of Tara somehow lead us to laughter. All she need do is enter a room and you would immediately smile. I remember going to help her pack up at the end of a Breezy rental one Summer -- she looked like she just unpacked. Her biggest concern? That her kids were out enjoying their last official day in Breezy. Family, friends and laughter. That was Tara.

My favorite...was a Bedford Avenue Block Party....Tara and I were on the same beach volleyball team...now this was a you tube moment...our team was just terrible but we were laughing so hard we wound up somehow trippng over each other and laying there in the sand for what seemed like forever...just laughing and being tangled in each other...both of us afraid to move....as the bathroom was very far away....

I miss our heart to hearts...I could tell her anything and she always found a way to make sense of it all...although friends for only a few years....she made an impact that will last forever....

Another birthday that reminds us of our loss but also reminds us of our fortune to have known you - for a day, a month, or for years, you are a person who has taught so many what it means to be a friend, I miss you

October 5, 2009

Yes Randi it was a day to bring back memories of Tara.It was Tara's kind of day family and fun.
She will always be in our hearts because she left us with so many happy memories. The sadness comes when you realize we aren't getting any more,so have hold in our hearts the memories we have.

Irish Day 09 - I found myself walking down Beech St scanning the crowd along the way. As we passed the bouncy park/kiddie ride area I realized I had been looking for you. So many Irish Days we would meet there.. in my mind I could hear you laughing and despite my flash of sadness I found myself grinning. I had a memory of you standing in the middle of all sizes and ages of kids running in circles and just letting loose with one of your memorable laughs of pure joy

Over the course of the day stories were (re)told and inevitably, since whenever there are bagpipes, a shamrock or two and a party going on who doesn't think of you - the Tara stories.... you are always with us, we miss you and I thank you for continuing to make me smile

Happy Irish Day

Dear Mom of Tara, I met you the other day at Staples as you were diligently selecting photos of your daughter. We got to talking and you told me the story of her passing. The memorial service you said was the following day. You were so open about her life and who she was that I was moved to write to you. I thought you should know that the love you felt for her was so strong I could embrace it. By evidence in her photos she must have been a remarkable Mom which I'm sure she must have learned from you. I'm so sorry for your loss, Eileen

I attended the memorial for you yesterday @ NYP; you are dearly missed, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always...you are still with us in the ways you touched so many of us, for me it will always be your lovely laugh. All of my love, Karen

Hey Tara - I was priviledged to attend the memorial held @ NY Hospital yesterday. They truly miss you, as we all do. Your life and time there has definately been carved in the granite stone. I am not surprised. You are truly missed by so many lives that you touched. I truly feel your leaving us has made many people appreciate the little things in life and to treat each new day as a special gift. Thank you. Lots of love, "S-2"

Tara
It's hard to believe that a year has gone by.. it seems like it's been but a minute...keep looking down and watching over your family and loved ones. No matter what the gathering is, when the neighborhood is out somewhere, inevitably, the memories of you are brought to the surface, the stories are told and retold and you continue to live on in our hearts and minds..

Miss you

A Reminiscence

YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.

May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.

Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

Some people touch your life to leave you with a kind thought
Others touch you and leave warm memories.
Tara did it ALL. She touched and left her mark on the hearts of those she knew well and those who she made feel she knew them well. She had a gift of making everyone she met feel that they were her friend.
Her ability to focus on the things in life that truly matter is a fine example that more Moms should follow. It is one that I will try to pursue more arduously.
She was a woman who loved on so many levels and who had a gift of passing happiness on to others.
The world was a better place with her in it.
Our family was blessed to have been touched by her and she will forever be in our thoughts.
Through prayers and with the help of family and friends Tara’s vibrant spirit will be kept alive
Our continuous prayers go out to John, Erin, Michael, Bridget and Kat, Dorothy and your entire family.

Happy St. Patricks Day Tara! Thank you for sending us a beautiful sunny day... we stood in "our' spot and watched Erin walk down the avenue with your mom .. you would have been so proud. This was your day and we all tried to make sure the joy that you brought to the St Patricks day celebration continued for John and the kids. Missed your smiling face - but know that you were with us all ...

you taught us well, find the love and joy in every moment. Being there today made me realize that, like you said to me last year , we do love a good parade - I thought of you saying that to me and as usual, when I think of you , I smiled ...
miss you -

It has been a long time without you and I must say its not the same. Seeing Erin and your kids all the time just breaks my heart each time. I know you are watching over them and all of your friends and family. You left too soon and you were very close my heart.

Hey Tara - It's Dec. 31, tomorrow we not only being the beginning of a new year, it is also the start of the eighth month without you. Your energetic life continues to fill the air, the void, not being able to speak with you or hug you.
Today is my great niece Tara second birthday. I was delighted when Dawn & Chris named her Tara and am grateful for another special Tara in my life. Continue to watch over John, Erin, Bridget, Micheal, Catherine and our beloved "Daffy". They need your guidance and miss you terribly. Happy 2009 Tara - let the party begin!

Tara
it's Christmas Eve, and I can't stop thinking about you. At Church I dedicated the entire Mass to praying for you. Tara, I really hope you know how much of an impact you had on my life. Because of you I know I am a better person. People say time heals all wounds, but it has been almost eight months and it hasn't gotten any easier for me. I know you are happy and are watching down on me and your family but I wish I could see you one more time & hug you and tell you how much you really meant to me. You made my childhood fun. You made coming home from school to call for little erin and mikey fun. When I see an American Girl Doll or a Bitty Baby, when I go ice skating, on Easter or St. Patty's Day, I will remember you and smile, because that entire chapter of my life of dolls and pretend house games, you were apart of entirely. I love you, and thank you for having this much of an impact on my life. You truely are amazing. Life isn't the same without you. I'm happy to have known you and be one of the many, many people to love you. So continue to laugh and smile as you did when you were here with us. So Merry Christmas Tara! we love you, may you rest in peace forever

Happy Birthday - I just know you found a table up in heaven to dance on -
whenever I think of you, and it's often, this quote always comes to mind
You've gotta' dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt.
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth."
(And speak from the heart to be heard.)
Live, Love and Dance - one of the many gifts you gave us

Tara was a remarkable toddler, teenager, woman, wife and mother who lived life fully. Tara's gift of laughter is a gift to all of us. She remains a part of us and will never be forgotten. What we lost is tremendous, what she gave us is immeasurable.
To John, Erin, Micheal, Bridget & Catherine: Tara left you with hope, love and celebration for you to carry with you always. Always remember to laugh, love and dream.
To Dorothy, Ray & Sal: Tara remains a true inspiration to us. Your daughter was a woman of great passion and compassion and a true bundle of energy. We miss her. Her life was brief...but a JOY to all.
To Raymond, Debbie, Shaelyn, & Raymond: Tara's love for all of you is the greatest refreshment in life. Hold on to it and cherish it always.

We're sorry that you have had the bad luck of losing someone dear to you. We have met Tara's mother, and shared our sympathy, as we know how it feels to be in such pain. We send her family and friends the best of wishes, and hope that your hearts will be relieved of their burdens in time.

Tara,
To know you was to love you! Recently my son, your nephew little Ray, exclaimed, "Aunt Tara put the F-U-N in fun!". Both Shaelyn and Raymond vividly remember all the great places that you took them when they visited. Somehow you knew you had to live a lifetime with them in a short amount of time. Besides their lives, Tara, we were all impressed and proud to see all the other lives that you touched when you were here with us. Our lives will never be the same first because we knew and loved you and secondly because we lost you. Both had a tremendous impact on so many people. I do know though that we will all be forever blessed for having a part of you in our soul. Hours before you passed away, Tara, you wished me a Happy Birthday and I said, "Thanks"...
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the laughter,
Thanks for your friendship!
Now I say to YOU today, "Happy Birthday!". I hope that you have all that you could have ever dreamed of and the contentment of knowing how much you were loved and cherished by us all.
I know that we will meet again one day. Until then though, there is a hole in my heart that is not likely to mend until the day I see you my friend.
I'll miss you for a lifetime,
Shine on...............

Tara Conlin was an exceptional
young woman who died too soon,
too young. She had accomplished
much in her short life.

I was a co-worker, who knew her
slightly, yet she always remembered
my name and was most gracious and
genuinely friendly.

So many of her colleagues and
coworkers at NY Presbyterian/
Cornell Weill were devastated by
her untimely death.

I feel badly for her family--especially
the children she adored--for they
must be extraordinary people.

I hope her children--even the youngest--will remember her for
the kind, loving lady she was.

She made an immeasurable contribution to this world.
The lives she touched will be enhanced for years and generations
to come.

God Bless Tara and her family.

I had the pleasure of playing ball with Tara at Mt.St. Vincent. You could tell when Tara was close because you heard her laugh way before she even hit the field. She was the ulimate team player on and off the field. I was a class ahead in nursing and left the area shortly after I graduated, but through the grapevine had heard what a phenominal nurse she turned out to be. She and the whole family are in my thoughts and prayers, you all had a real champ there, she was definately one of my favorite "Mounties".
