Rudolph T. Hotarek

HOTAREK - Rudolph T. of Port Washington, age 91 on June 7, 2008 after a prolonged illness. Beloved husband of the late Regina Jamison for 60 years. Devoted father of Gail Dwyer (Edward), Brian (Christine), Regina, Robert (Joan), and Christine Shepherd (Scott). Loving grandfather of eleven and proud great-grandfather of six. Highly decorated veteran of WWII, having received two Purple Hearts for wounds sustained in combat, and the Bronze Star for valor. One of the few decorated war veterans of both the European and Asian campaigns. For 30 years he has run his own incentive marketing firm where he worked until retirement, at age 80. Co-founder and former President of Port Youth Activities. He was an instrumental force in St. Ignatius Retreat Program for over 20 years and was also an active member of St. Peter of Alcantara Church since 1952. He served many years on the Board of Governors at Plandome Country Club, where he enjoyed many hours on the golf course and cultivated many of his closest friendships. Reposing at Austin F. Knowles, Inc Funeral Home Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 9:30am St. Peter of Alcantara R.C. Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
