Alex Seddio

My name is Alex Seddio and I served together with Guy in the Marine Corps for most of the period from 1968 to 1972, including one year of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Guy was an awesome Marine and I can see that background reflected in all of the other comments on this site, especially those of his son Brandon. One of my best memories was visiting his mother, sister and two young brothers during Christmas leave in December of 1970, when they were living in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

A YEAR AGO TODAY, I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE -- MY LIFE HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME SINCE HE LEFT US. THE BOYS AND I STUGGLE TO FIND A NEW NORMAL -- IT'S NOT EASY. YOU GO THROUGH YOUR DAILY ROUTINES, BUT THINGS ARE NEVER THE SAME WHEN YOU SUFER THE TYPE OF LOSS THAT WE DID.
BUT, WITHALL THE PRAYERS AND SUPPORT WE RECEIVE FROM OUR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES, WE WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO FIND A NEW NORMAL, IF SUCH A THING EVEN EXISTS. WE LOST SOMEONE WHO WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU HAVE SUPPORTED US AND BEEN IN OUR LIVES, MUCH LOVE, EILEEN BRANDON CHRISTOPHER AND TERENCE

My father was such a proud man. He never wanted a whole lot of recognition for all of his accomplishments which he definitely deserved. He tried to just do his job and that was it. If his work wasn't recognized, he was ok with that. He always prided himself for his 30+ years he was employed by the police department. He never wanted a big deal made on his behalf. This attitude was what made him so well respected by all of his colleagues whether they were his equals, superiors or people who worked for him. This made him such a great man. Him being the way he was has helped mold me into the person I am today. I thank him for that. He will be missed by all of us (his family) and everyone else who came in contact with him on the NYPD. He will be watching over all of us now protecting us and keeping us safe.

I had the pleasure to drive your husband/father a few times back when he was my Commanding Officer in PSA 2, I think in 96 or 97. He was a kind, humorous, and fair boss to work for. I am sorry for your loss. He is one boss I will never forget.
