OSTERNDORF - Joan Elizabeth, left to be with the Lord on July 9, 2008.?Joan received her undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees from St. John's University.?She began her career as an attorney with General Accident Insurance Company.?Thereafter, Joan practiced law as a Senior Vice-President with General Reinsurance Corporation.?Joan is the daughter of the late John and Loretta (Geoghan) Osterndorf, sister of John (Joyce), Richard (Pauline), and the late Edward (Sandra) Osterndorf. Joan is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews, and 26 grandnieces and grandnephews. Reposing Monday, July 14, 2-4 and 7-9pm, at The Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home: 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS Pkwy) Wantagh, NY. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Tuesday, July 15, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal R.C. Church, Pt. Lookout. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Westchester, NY. www.osheafuneral.com

She was a very nice person and nice to know.
