Dear Evelyn, Bob, Jessica, and Jon,
We were so sorry to hear about George's passing. We received the news while traveling in Italy. I have fond memories of our years together in the choir. George always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. One of my first thoughts upon hearing of George's death was that my Mom was there to meet him, and and probably said, "Come on George, let me show you around"! I know there is a group of St. John's members singing, praising God, and having a Bible study in heaven!

Dear Evelyn, Bob and Jessica,
We will always remember George as a devoted follower of Christ and a committed member of the various choirs at St Johns. His strong voice always added depth to the choir's presentation. He now is free from the pains and difficulties that he experienced in his last years and is now enjoying eternity with our Lord and Savior.

Dear Evelyn, Bob, Jessica and Jon:

I know that you have a strong faith and know also that it was time for George to go home. His volunteering days are now in heaven. May you all be comforted to know that he is finally resting in the arms of his loving Lord who he faithfully served for many, many years. God continue to bless you all, Love, Barbara Grant

"Aunt" Evelyn and Bob,
Was deeply saddened to hear of "Uncle" George's passing. I remember growing up with all the family parties and how close my Mom was with her dear cousins. The smiles, laughter and music always was in the air. I will always remember Uncle George's big smile!! I think the last time we were all together might have been Bob's High School graduation.. wow many years ago, but always look forward to the Christmas cards for updates. I remember when Uncle George was on bowling for dollars.. My mom videotaped it and it was so exciting to see him win!! I also remember that you Evelyn would always make your delicious Lamb cake for birthday celebrations and Easter. I do have your recipe and even the lamb mold handed down from my Mom.. I am not much of a baker, but will definitely give it a go one of these days. The pictures Bob put in the photo album are a wonderful bunch of pictures and everyone I see of Uncle George has his winning smile. I will remember that always. You can see he was very proud from the pics of both Bob and his grandson.. wonderful memories. Our deepest condolences to you, Bob, Jesse and Johnny.

To Evelyn & the entire Koenig Family:

Our deepest sympathy...but not without fond memories. Our earliest memory was singing in the choir together in l961 & '62, even before you joined, Evelyn (you couldn't because all tenors were married to altoes, no bass/soprano connections yet). How good to know that George not only sang to the Lord, but knew Him well. What blessings we hold in the promise of our resurrection as we know of His Easter/Resurrection! What a mighty loving Lord!

Having made music together with George (and Evelyn) in St. John's choir for a year or two we came to appreciate not only George's wonderful bass voice, but his winning personality as well. It was our privilege to be able to count him not only a brother in Christ, but a good friend as well. We thank the Lord for the gift George was to so many and praise Him for using George as another vehicle of blessing for us all. He has become a worthy addition to the heavenly chorus that joins in our celebrations of the Eucharist. May he rest (and sing) in peace.

My favorite memory of Mr. Koenig is one where I was at hishouse and I was sitting on the floor in front of their TV. His grandson Jonny was about one and was drinking a bottle and he came and sat on my lap and watched TV with me. Mr. Koenig said "Look at that"" and chuckled. I think he liked seeing someone enjoy his grandson's company as much as he did.

Dear Evelyn,
Growing up with George was a life of music and family get to-gethers.
We both liked country music, and would play and sing everytime we got together.
George sang bass and I sang tenor in our church choir, and we sang, background on one of his son Bob's recording.
I know he's singing up there in Heaven with the Angelic chorus.
Sincerely,
Your Brother Walter
