John Matier Obituary
MATIER - John R., of Mount Sinai on August 4th 2008. Beloved husband of Mary Jane, father of Catherine, Kevin, John, and Paul. father-in-Law of Lorraine, and grandfather of Connor and Heidi. Beloved brother of Jeanne Lavelle and James and Candice Matier and brother-in-law of Irene Matier, and Ann and John Clancy. Other survivors include Tracey and Cher and many nieces and nephews. Retired Teacher of Ward Melville HS, where he was known as "Captain Jack" to his students. Family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home, 411 Old Town Road, Setauket, August 7th 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday August 8th at 10:00am at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, Main Street, Port Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jack Matier Education Fund at Hope House Ministries at PO Box 358, Port Jefferson, NY 11777-0358 or on the Hope House website at http://www.hhm.org.
