Arthur Sosnowski Obituary

SOSNOWSKI - Arthur J., of Melbourne, age 80, was born on June 23, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY and died unexpectedly and peacefully on Thursday evening July 24, 2008. Art died fishing on the lake that he loved and vacationed at for the past forty eight years in Pennsylvania. He had a history of heart disease and cancer, but God blessed him by taking him home before either disease could debilitate him. As a young man he was an MP in the Army and went on to several different jobs, from working at a nail factory, an airport, and finally to box boy at the Ullman Company where he worked his way up to being Vice President; a position he held until he retired in 1994. Art was a great man and touched many people during his long life. Kind, funny, loving and gentle, he was always there for anyone that needed him. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Art is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Sosnowski Riehl, son-in-law William Riehl, and granddaughter, Jessica Riehl. He was preceded in death by his son Arthur T. Sosnowski, his wife Elaine V. Sosnowski, grandson William Arthur Riehl, his father Thaddeus, his mother Helen, and his brother Ted Sosnowski. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 9, 2008 at 2:00pm at Advent Lutheran Church 7550 North Wickham Road, Melbourne. Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the William Arthur Riehl Memorial Scholarship Fund, Satellite High School 300 Scorpion Court Satellite Beach, Florida 32937, Attn: Linda Anderson.
