Bernard McCavanagh Obituary

McCAVANAGH - Bernard G. Our Dad passed away peacefully on August 4, 2008 in Florida. He was born and raised in Central Islip, moving to Florida in 1992. He married Margaret Dietz who preceded him in death. Together they were blessed with seven children, 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He served in the US NAVY. He was a life member of the Central Islip Fire Dept. He was an electrician with Local 25 I.B.E.W. until his retirement in 1992. He served in numerous positions for the union. He is survived by his children Gail, Patrick, Daniel, Maureen, Kevin, Maryann, Eileen, all his grand and great grand- children, many relatives and friends. Not to mention his constant companion for the past 10 years, his beloved "Chipper". Your love and compassion will be missed by all who knew you. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be at Thomas P. Walsh Funeral Home, Inc., 60 Carleton Ave., Central Islip, NY on Thursday August 14, 2008, 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial Mass, Friday at 9:45am in St. John of God Church, Central Islip. Entombment following at Queen of All Saints Cemetery. We will miss Ben,we live in the same community of Highlands Ridge.He was well liked by every one here.There was a nice service for him on Friday.Many of his family were here.Our prayers are with Ben And his family.
