When I got the message about Joe, it basically deflated me. I couldn't believe what I heard.
Joe always had a smile on his face and he always brightened up your day regardless of what was going on. We had so many great times at Bay Shore. I moved away several years ago but the last time I came back for a visit, I saw Joe and he treated me as if I hadn't been gone a single day. The world has truly lost a good man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I'll miss you Joe!

I cant believe last Sunday Kenny and I were at the race track to see you and Louie race. Your big hug and kiss and asking what do you want to drink and are you hungry? It seems there is a mistake, and hard to believe I will never hear your voice on the phone again after a race asking for Kenny to tell him about it. We will miss you so much and I'm sure the angels are happy to have another angel with them as you were hear on earth with us. Sincere sympathy to Joe's family and friends for such a great loss. Love always Ken and Lisa

Oh Digange. I saw it, didn't want to believe it, and hoped it was someone else. When I saw Parks Dept., and Pit Crew, my heart sank. The world, your family, friends and your bowling family has lost a wonderful and kind spirit. All of us, will truly miss you more then you know.
You brought smiles to our faces, laughter into our hearts, and left indelible memories that will last for ever in each and every one of us. From the stands in Riverhead Raceway, and our memorable Limo ride out their, too bowling at Bayshore, and our pot games. Hanging out in the bar and drinking, playing cards laughing our butts off, with Scotty O, myself, Marcus, Magoogoo, Ellis, and others, to making you sing your favorite karaoke song ever (mockingly) the "Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzenellen Bogen by the Sea" song..
Even now as I type it, I see your smiling face in front of me going ..Haskell.. I know what I'm going to make Scotty sing if he loses this hand..watch this he says with his big smile...Scotty loses, Joe shows em the song.. Scotty's eyes bulge, and puts his head down and starts laughing his butt off... Joe says, lets go hoss, it's all you and the Gilly Gilly. so make us proud. I know he will miss you dearly, as will Marcus and Ellis. Every time we saw you, we knew we were going to have a lot of fun, and we did.
May you rest in peace Digange, and maybe now, you will finally be able to "hit" the ball..lol All my love and prayers, Haskell

Joe was truly one of the nicest, friendliest men around. He was quick to greet you with a smile and hug. I will miss Joe very much. The race track won't be same. He always extended his hand to help anyone who needed it. There are not too many guys around like Joe. There are no words to express the deep sadness I feel at this time. May he rest in peace and look down on us all. I know that God is smiling at his arrival in heaven, welcoming him with open arms.Godspeed Joe, we love you.

Our words cannot express the loss we all feel. I know in time the emptiness will fade, yet somehow that is unimaginable right now.Joe was and will always be my husbands best, dearest, closest friend. Distance separated them. I always know where Joe is in Walters heart. My sons middle name is in his honor. Eddie knows that and will treasure that honor with him forever. He was the best man at our wedding a lifetime ago. As I look at his pictures I am so glad to have known him. It was an honor to meet him, to get to know him and to Love him.
I send my sincere sympathy to his family and all who have been touched by Joe.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Joe's family and friends. Before I moved down to Maryland in 2000, I spent plenty of time around Joe within the bowling circles and also out singing, where he was always game to give us his rendition of "Foxy Lady" by Hendrix. Joe was the kind of guy who would give any friend the shirt off his back, and in the years after I moved, I would often see him when I returned for a bowling tournament on Long Island. He was one of the nicest people I knew out there, and I am deeply saddened by his very untimely passing.
