Dear all, this is maria Tom's sister some how this morning I am searching the web and find myself on this page. To those that have written or shall I say signed the guest book my heart is filled with love and happiness for the beautiful words about Thomas.I wonder if I shall see more in the future? if not I know many people don't often look for these kinds of things I also know in my heart that all who knew him were touched each in a very unique way. My family will never be the same as he was a very solid part of the Cortese/Basile families. It also goes without saying that the part of his heart which housed love remains with Darlene, Michael and Patrick and I know it always will . Thomas was one of four children and had his own kind of relationship with all of us.including his nieces and nephew and naturally my parents. He was the first of all things to John and Rita. first memories , first milestones for parents to experience ect. Some of our family memories focused around Tom are his love for jeopardy....he knew every answer !!! Star Track, Planet of The Apes, Billy Joel , The Eagles and Eric Clapton . He loved to play darts and shoot pool. He loved to read , which was one of the most difficult things for him when his eye sight was failing. He always tried to make others laugh and we often joke how only he laughed at his jokes. Smart minds only smart minds get my humor he would say. He was the kind of big brother who drove my friends and I to the roller rink, took Philip to the community center and stole Easter candy from Doreen's Easter basket when they were young. Funny stories now but if you were 3 yrs old you would have been pissed like Doreen was then!It is a story my parents have always told over and over. The memories are endless and also filled with stories involving my cousins , first and second generations !! Tom struggled everyday with discomfort from diabetes but he never complained everyday he just went on with his life and tried the best he could. I know in my heart he would give anything to be back with us in the physical, he loved his family and found peace and happiness with Darlene. I try to think that he is here in the spiritual and if we look for signs we will know when he has come to visit. Please hold my parents in your hearts for they need much support. Doreen , Philip , Gina , and myself are so consumed with thoughts of my parents and and Darlene that on some days we know not were to turn so it is of great comfort to know that prayers and extra thoughts will be given for them . May all who read this always find love and harmony in all you do.

almost a month has gone by since I lost my beloved Thomas. We were two lost souls that found comfort and love through each other. I will always miss him and cherish the unconditional love that he gave me. Darlene (lifetime Companion)

To The Cortese family, I only met Tom a few times, but I could see what a kind loving man he was. He loved Michael and Patrick as if they were his own, and cared very deeply for them. He will be missed.
