Catherine Penn Obituary

PENN - Catherine, 85, of West Islip, NY and Keansburg, NJ passed away on Saturday, August 16. Born in Seymour, CT, she was a graduate of Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City, and went on to become a Head Surgical Nurse for Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, NY. She retired after 20 years of service. She was a world traveler and will always be remembered for her great sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard T. Penn, her parents, Samuel and Julia Lewkow and her brother Henry Lewkow. She is survived by her son Thomas L. Penn and his wife Linda of Islip, NY, her daughter Susan C. Penn and her husband Jack Pauline of Long Branch, her brother-in-law Martin A. Amodeo and his wife Jane of Punta Gorda, FL, her three grandchildren, Meagan Penn Ruland, Noah T. Penn, and Molly Scaldaferri, and great-grandson, Dillon L. Ruland. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial will take place Wednesday, August 20th at 1pm at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island. Visit www.sidun.com
