I just heard the news today through a mutual friend. Bud and I were inseperable our junior and senior years in High school. Words cannot express my sadness "you were taken too soon and will be missed". R.I.P my friend

I am very, very, sorry for your loss. Charlie will will be missed. I worked next to Charlie at Tyree for several years and enjoyed his sense of humor and his wonderful ability to tell stories with his amazing vocabulary. After we both left Tyree, I would run into him here and there and he never failed to make me double over in laughter. I am very sad that the world has lost a genuinely saguine soul.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. I've known Bud for at least 15 years. (I'm his friend from Tyree who moved to California) Charlie was hands down one of THE nicest, most honest, humble, sensitive, easy going, FUNNY!!!, trustworthy, deeply caring, loving, intelligent people I know. He was a man of his word. A man of enormous integrity. Someone you could always count on. To know him was to love him. He was a friend to many and my very best and only guy friend. I loved him very much and I am so sad that he is gone.
*NOTE: I posted a picture of us on Kismet, Fire Island last summer. I am on the far left, Bud is on the far right. The people in the middle are friends of mine from California who we coincidentally ran into while we were there. For almost a decade, Charlie wouldn't allow me to use the word "Bizarre." He said I wasn't allowed to because I abused this word by over using it and diluting the meaning. For about 10 years I stopped using the word altogether. He gave me such a complex over this I'd actually catch myself trying to use it but then I'd replace it with something else like "interesting" or "peculiar." Anyway, on this day last summer, Charlie released me from my sentence and said I was officially allowed to use the word BIZARRE to describe how strange it was that I ran in to my California friends while on Fire Island with him. I will remember him whenever I use the word bizarre and Bud, I promise to use it correctly and make you proud!!

Charlie will be so missed. My heart goes out to all of your family and friends. I think of you often and can always laugh at the good times we had. It is devastating to think that when I visit NY I won't bump into you somewhere, like always. Know that you have touched my heart and will be very missed.

Charlie was very much like my sixth brother and I will miss him very much. I was lucky enough to see him this past May and had the chance to talk about old times and catch up on the new. My heart goes out to him and he will always be in my thoughts. There was no one like"Bud"
