John Stack Obituary

STACK - John B., of Montclair, NJ, died August 10, 2008 in Cedar Grove, NJ. He was 80 years old. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Richmond Hill, NY; West Hempstead, NY; Minneapolis, MN; and Freeport, NY; moving to Montclair, NJ, 5 years ago. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Muriel Stack, three children Jack Stack, Minneapolis, MN, Tim and Mary Ann Stack, Pacifica, CA. and Melissa and Don Giordano, Montclair, NJ, seven grand- children, Dana Stack, Minneapolis, MN., Ryan Lenahan and Sydney Stack, Pacifica, CA., Hannah Giordano, Nora Giordano, Kathleen Giordano and Elizabeth Giordano, all of Montclair, NJ. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Stack. Survived by six siblings, Maura, Austin, Nan, Joan, Pat,and Nuala. He was a graduate of St. John's University, Queens, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as an advertising executive in New York, and Minneapolis, retiring in 1990. Since retirement, the history and genealogy of his Irish roots led him to create the Stack Clan website, that included a family history as well as current events, up to the birth of the latest Stack family grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass at St. Cassian's Church, Upper Montclair, NJ on Saturday , September 6, 2008 at 12:00 Noon. Arrangements Caggiano Memorial, Montclair, N.J. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Waterview Center, 536 Ridge Rd Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 would be appreciated.

Although I didn't know John I would suspect that we are cousins descended from the Stack's who left County Kerry for Minnesota and Wisconsin. My deeptest sympathy.
