Dear Aunt Claire, Joel and MaryEllen,
I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Joe's passing. I have wonderful memories of his partnership with my dad and my interactions with him as I was growing up. My mom and dad are living very near me in South Carolina now (as of Nov. 2007) and my dad was extremely distraught and at times inconsolable about Uncle Joe's passing.
I always admired and respected Uncle Joe and learned lessons about how to respect your clients in business and to persevere - by observing his demeanor with clients at the station. He was a wonderful role model.
I am so sorry for your loss. Love, Annette (Sacani Austin)

"Aunt" Claire- My deepest condolences to you and your family. I know Joe loved you very much, and will live on always in memory and in spirit. I truly believe he is watching over us all now and smiling.
Joe was an amazing individual and truly a joy in everyone's lives. I knew him ever since I moved next door to him and Claire when i was 8 years old. And from then on he became "Uncle" Joe. He was always a pleasure to be around and he loved to share his life experiences with me and tell me his war stories. I will miss him dearly I still cannot believe i will never see him sitting on his porch and waving to me again. i love you Joe. Rest in peace, and i will see you in Heaven because i soul like yours will live on always<3
