Yesterday was a year that you were gone. I can't tell you how many times in the last year that I've gone to dial your number or see something with Pooh-Bear on it that I knew you'd love. I am an old high school friend of Tom's. I have not been in touch with him for many years. When I heard of his wife Jen's passing from another high school friend (Jeff Swartz) who happened across the Newsday article and Obituary on the internet, we were deeply saddened. On this anniversary, Jeff and I would again like to express our deepest condolences for your lose, and hope both Families well in the future.
Jeff and I had been trying to track Tommy down when we heard the sad news. We have no idea how to get in touch with him. All we know is that he was still living on Long Island. We have a son with learning disabilities and I remember when he was in second grade he had Miss Ogden. It was probably at the beginning of her teaching career because he is 15 now. I remember Miss Ogden because she was so kind and caring toward our son and she truly accepted him for who he is without judging him. Brian still remembers her today! We will always remember her kindness and warm smile!

Each of us who loved Jennifer are connected through her spirit. Our shared goal should be to fill the people around us with the same love and laughter that Jennifer filled our lives with. I was not extremely close to her, but whenever I saw her, there was a unique light of joy that pervaded her essence. Jennifer was my beloved niece who was a huge support to me. She was wonderful with my son who has autism and she was named as his alternate guardian through Surrogate's Court. We shared many special times together and I loved her like a daughter. She was the light of our family and her sense of humor made our family get togethers lively and loud. I met Jen Ogden in high school. She was a senior, when I was a freshman, but it never mattered; we became friends through our love of music. I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer at Building Blocks Developmental Preschool, when we both started out in our careers 10 years ago. I was always inspired by Jen's zest for life and passion for teaching, as well as that beautiful singing voice! I suddenly thought of her the other day (before discovering her death in the newspaper).... she once threw her preschool class a beach-themed party and wore a bathing suit herself for the occasion!
