HAVEMEYER - Arline Dorothy Hart, passed and joined her heavenly family on Friday October 3, 2008 in Springdale, Arkansas. Members of both her family and friends surrounded her, with her favorite hymns playing. She was born January 12, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY. Moved as an infant to Meshoppen, PA she spent her childhood there on the Hart Farm. The majority of her adult life was spent in Hempstead, NY. Before raising a family, she worked as both an accountant and a model. As a member of the Hempstead Methodist Church, Arline was a member of the Lydia Circle, also serving on many church committees. Her kind and generous nature spilled over into her daily life. Helping others gave her great joy. Arline's home was a haven for many, from young to the old, especially neighborhood children who would visit after school. Her favorite hobbies included bowling, gardening, and cooking, but her joy was reading all types of books. Books were her windows to the world. Her family was her window to her heart and above all else she devoted her life to them. Arline moved to her daughter's house in West Fork, Arkansas nine years ago bringing her sunshine with her. She was preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Gregory Hart, her sister Libby Hart, her devoted husband Howard R. Havemeyer, and her beloved son Howard Lewis Havemeyer. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Libby Wright, son- in-law Kirk Wright, son Richard Havemeyer, sister-in-law Roberta Havemeyer, daughter-in-law Ginny Havemeyer, grandchildren Michael and Tina Havemeyer of NY, Matt Agee and April Pennington Agee, granddaughter and caregiver Emily Agee. Her two great granddaughters Lilly and Allie Agee brought her special joy. Deepest Thanks goes to the staff at the Circle of Life Hospice Home for their kindness and help given. Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, AR or to the Hempstead United Methodist Church, Hempstead, NY.
