Martin Spatz Obituary

SPATZ - Dr. Martin, age 93, a prominent physician and professor of urology passed away on October 3, 2008. Born July 23, 1915 to Morris and Lena Spatz. A graduate of NYU Medical School, he maintained an active practice for over forty years. Held professorships in urology at NYU and Stony Brook University. He served as a governor for the American College of Surgeons. He was noted for his many contributions to the Advancement of Urologic Medicine. He was pre- deceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dr. Polly Reaves Spatz. He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Joan Reaves, nieces Kathleen Reaves Pierce and Carol Reaves Price and children, Stuart, Mitchell and Kelsey, his cousins, Morris Lippner and Shirley Loshen of Florida. He leaves many devoted friends including Dr. Joseph Greensher, his wife Lyn and family. Donations in his memory may be made to Winthrop University Hospital or NYU Department of Urology.

i worked with dr spatz at winthrop from 1983 till he retired. I also worked part time in his office on saturday mornings. Rest in peace
