STROBEL - Joan A., 73, of Patchogue NY, on October 27, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Charles F. Strobel. Loving mother Mary (and Thomas) Goebel, Barbara (and Gary) Kostyrka, Joanie (and Paul) Keogh and the late Thomas Strobel. Cherished grandmother of Margaret, Jason, Eric, Kristin, Gary Jr., Charles and Rebecca. Devoted great-grandmother of Gracie and Caleb. Arrangements entrusted to the Ruland Funeral Home, Inc. (South of LIE Exit 63), 500 North Ocean Ave., Patchogue NY. Family to receive friends Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45am on Thursday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church Chapel. Interment to follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

You've been gone now for 15 years and, well, I can tell you, my heart still throbs and hurts each and every day!!!!! I soooooooo love you momma. I need u so much. I am beyond so angry that u had to leave us. Just know, you truly are my BEST friend!!!!!!!!!

Joan and I grew up together in Ridgewood. We lived across the street and attended the same schools through high school. Although we have not been in touch in recent years I have fond memories of her. I extend my condolences on your loss.
