Edmund Young Obituary

YOUNG - Edmund "Ed", 90, Pan American Airways Maintenance Executive died in Jensen Beach, FL on October 22. He was born in Sacramento, California, on October 25th in 1917. After high school, he enrolled in the Boeing School of Aeronautics where he studied aviation mechanics. Immediately upon graduation, in October, 1941, he accepted a position with Pan American Airways in Africa. After the war, Ed continued his career with Pan Am and was based in numerous stations around the world. In 1970 he was promoted to the position of Director of Line Station Maintenance Operations based in NY, where he was responsible for over 100 stations worldwide. He retired in 1982 after 41 years of service to Pan Am. He was a resident of Massapequa Park for 30 years. He is survived by his two children, Bettina Young-Foody and William Young as well as son in-law William Foody, grandson Trevor Pearson and great grandson Trevor Lane Pearson, brother Robert Young and wife Betty of Danville, California and Mary Young of Duarte, California, wife of predeceased brother Richard Young. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 1st at 11am at The Community United Methodist Church, 100 Park Blvd., Massapequa, NY.
