Nicholas Palamidis Obituary

PALAMIDIS - Nicholas (Nick), age 86, of Knoxville passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007 in Miami. Nick was of the Greek Orthodox faith. He was a 32 degree mason and a shriner. Nick was retired from Grumman Aerospace company. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Marine Corp in the Pacific Theatre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cosmos and Irene Palamidis, sister, Stella Cocolis. Nick is survived by his wife, Alice Durham Palamidis; children, Carey Palamidis and wife Cathy of Knoxville, Peter Palamidis and wife Pat of Patchogue, NY and Mary Ann Armbrecht of Miller Place, NY; grandchildren, Cerrie Ann Floyd, Christie Marie Branson, Peter Palamidis Jr., Stacie Zumpol, Christopher, Kristen and Keith Armbrecht; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Kay Mitsos of Dobbs Ferry, NY; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by a Trisagion Service in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Thursday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with Father John Kostas officiating. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the U.S. Marine Corp.
