BOOTH - Whitney, of Southold, L.I. on November 25, 2007 at the age of 81. Former publisher of the LI Traveler-Watchman Newspaper and a retired Suffolk County Probation Officer. Beloved husband of Antonia (nee Sullivan). Loving father of Pamela, Stephen, Clement Booth and Edna Booth Wilkens and step-father of Victoria Cortese, Stephen, David, John, Evie, Jeff and Charles Witherspoon and Justine Keith. Fond brother of Edward C. (Pat) Booth. Cherished grandfather of twenty-four. Dear uncle of Edward, Michael and Margot Booth and Katherine Booth Cohen. Friends are welcome to call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes, Inc., 51400 Route 25, Southold, NY 11971 (19 mi. East of LIE, Exit 73). Liturgy of Christian Burial, Thursday 10:00 AM, St. Patrick's R.C. Church. Interment Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Southold Free Library, P. O. Whitney was the coolest uncle in the world and a great, great man. He will be very missed by everyone who loved him.

Whit was not only a professional and dedicated Probation Officer but also a fine Gentleman and a damn nice guy with whom it was my pleasure to work for many years.He left his mark on many people while he was here and I was one of them. Deepest sympathy to the family.Rest well my friend.
