Dear Doug Jr. and Family,
I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of your father. He was a great man. He was always kind and generous and a complete pleasure to deal with. I will miss not seeing his friendly face when I walk to into the shop and it was a total shock to learn of his passing this morning. My prayers and sympathy go out to you and your family during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Hassell Family, and the Hassell Auto-Body Family. I was shocked when I learned of Mr. Hassell's passing. He was always kind, friendly, and smiling whenever I would see him at the shop, and when he would pick me up, or drop me off. His loss is a big loss to the community, and to all who knew him.

It is with difficulty that I am able to accept the the news that Doug Sr. has passed on. I will always remember his teddy bear spirit, his sense of humor and bright smile, that sparkle in his eyes, and his gigantically generous heart. I am honored to have known him in this life and to have observed him as he blessed so many others. As his family, each of you exemplifies the love that he exhibted as well. It has been a great joy to share your admiration and caring for one another. This is a huge loss. May God grace you as you face the days ahead.

Sincerely

This morning I sat down at my desk and found some photos sitting out. I looked that the top photo and noticed it was Doug sitting in the front row smiling that big lovable smile. I wondered how we was and thought about him as I logged on to my emails to discover a notice of his passing. Coincidence perhaps, but I would like to think it was Doug's way of saying good bye. I will miss him so much it hurts!

My friend Doug was one of incredible integrity, and honor. He cared deeply, aobut everything he did. He was a rare individual that served as a beacon and bright light in a world of growing darkness. We will miss Doug in more ways than we can ever express.

Doug Jr. and family,
We were saddened to read of your dad's passing in Sheila's newsletter. We met your dad only once or twice while with the Dewing Business Group. After reading the guest book entries it is clear what a special person your dad was to family, friends and community. We're very sorry for your loss and hope that you will find some peace through memories and photos. All our best to you and yours. - Camille Eber & John Yoswick and William Bray (Roth & Miller Autobody)

Dear Mrs. Hassell & Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Doug's passing. He was a wonderful person as well as a neighbor. When I moved out of state, he always looked after my daughter, Kelly for me whenever she had a problem with her car. I will surely miss seeing his smiling face when I'm in town, and stopping by the shop to say hello. May god bless him and Kimmy always. They are together now. I will surely miss him. God Bless all of you.

I am profoundly sorry for your loss.

Doug was a cherished member of the auto collision repair community. He touched us all with his smile, sense of humor, generosity, compassion, and old-fashioned decency.

I am sure that Doug never met a stranger, as he was the easiest person in the world to talk to. He was a good listener, too. He never failed to ask me about my family members. I loved that about him.

I knew his family was the most important thing in the world to him. Your loss is immeasurable.

Doug was simply a great man, I knew him on the professional level but that did not stop him from becoming my friend. At every turn in our relationship Doug would offer sincere advice with the only intention... to help me be a better person. As someone once said"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, body thoroughly used and broken up and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!"
To me that was my friend Doug Hassell.

Doug Remembered,
The old expression "He didn't have a bad bone in his body" only begins to describe the warmth, love and spirit of the Doug Hassell we were privileged to know and call a friend. The same remains steadfast in his entire extended family. Doug will always be remembered.

Scouting has lost a great friend. When I would speak of Doug to others, they could not believe that such a man could exist. But I and my Pack know what a kind, generous man Doug was. They don't make many men like Doug anymore. He was a great example to myself, my family and my pack.
God Bless You Doug Hassel and may you sleep peacefully in the arms of the lord.

Dear Hassell Family,
We will all miss Doug as a tireless businessman, friend, and community sponsor of so many local organizations. We will always remember the many times that he sponsored car washes, offered rides, and so many other things that only a good friend would do. Doug set the example of how a successful person can pay back the community, and did it continuously.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Dear Ann & Family
We would like to express our most sincere condolences on Doug's passing. We are shocked.
I had recently reconnected with him on line, and it sounded like everything was going so great. He was an old friend and we really feel your loss. Our kids still talk about the boat trips.
Stay strong and know that he had the respect and gratitude of so many people.

Mrs Hassell and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Hassell. He was a wonderful person. He will truly be missed by all. I know I will miss him, I have known him since I was a little girl (8 yrs old) He was a wonderful neighbor, he played alot of tricks on my mom and dad, like the time he put the shark head in our bushes. I use to stop in the shop just to say hi.
We will miss his smiling face.
