Ms. English was my 1st and 2nd grade teacher. I was pretty ill when I was younger and always in hospital and missing days from school. This incredible woman would visit me often, check on me and make sure I was caught up and on Target for my grade level. I remember my parents forgetting it was picture day (latchkey kid)and she took the time to comb my super frizzy and tangled hair so I could participate and not be embarrassed. She made me feel powerful, intelligent and like if I worked hard I could accomplish anything. When I graduated nursing school I sought her out after writing a letter about the impact she had on my life and found that she had passed and wept like I had lost a family member. I hope she knew how valued she was and how often she was in my thoughts. Rest in Love and Power.

Mrs. English was an inspiration to teachers and aspiring administrators like me. I didn't get to know her long, but the time she gave to me and others that she graced with her presence was truly a blessing. She will be missed dearly. God Bless.

"Rosamaria" is what I called her and she loved it when I said her name in spanish. I spent many a late night in the building when I worked at LFH with "Rosamaria". Sometimes it was ten at night and we were there fixing our classrooms and getting things ready for our children. I will treasure those memories and the pedagogical discussions we would have about education.

I am shocked and so, so sad by the passing of Mrs. English. Although I didn't know her very long, I feel honored and privileged to have worked with her at LFH this past year. She was an inspiration to me and I know, to all of those who knew and loved her. My prayers and condolences to her family, both at home and at LFH.
With love and respect,

Ms. English was a wonderful loving person. This was evident not only in the classroom, where she taught my oldest son (kindergarten 2000)but in the hallways as she greeted everyone with a big smile. And she knew all of my childrens names, even when I have trouble remembering their names myself sometimes . There is no way that she could have possibly known just how many lives she has touched. She will be missed and her family is in all of our prayers.

Rosemary,
You were an angel here on Earth and simply went back home to get your wings. It was a pleasure and an honor to have met you. I was touched by an Angel. You were truly a wonderful woman and I will never forget the words of comfort that you offered me when my son Markus passed away. I hope that he was one of the first faces you saw when you got to Heaven, because he really admired you and thought you were special. You will be missed and Popeis will never be the same. God bless your soul and the many people you have left behind. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I have known Rosemary for (40) years. She was a childhood friend that remained true, even into adulthood. When Rosemary laughed, you couldnt help but laugh too! She brought goodness and light into every room she entered. She was an exemplery teacher and loved ALL children. Wyandanch mourns her passing collectively and individually. I will never forget Roma...my sincere condolences to the entire family.

Words cannot simply express the sadness I feel on the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Rosemary English. She loved people but most of all, children. Her laughter was contagious, her character unassuming. She was the hope and promise for the children of our community. The Wyandanch family will miss an incredible educator and leader. I will miss a true friend.
