M. Dempsey Obituary

M. Carolyn Dempsey 1931 - 2008 NORTH ADAMS M. Carolyn Dempsey, 76, formerly of 2405 15th Street, Troy, N.Y., died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Craneville Place, Main Street, Dalton. Born in North Adams on Sept. 27, 1931, a daughter of Matthew Lawrence Dempsey and Frances Edith McIver Dempsey, she attended local schools in and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School with the Class of 1949. She also graduated from Becker Junior College in Worcester. During the 1950's, she resided in Davenport, Iowa and during the 1980's, she resided in Alexandria, Va. Before her retirement, she was last employed as a medical secretary in Albany, N.Y. She was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Church. She leaves a brother, John M. "Jack" Dempsey of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A daughter, Mary Kathleen Dasso, died Dec. 30, 1983, and a sister, Margaret Maureen Lenseth, died Nov. 26, 2007. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will take place Saturday July 19, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will take place in the Dempsey Family plot at Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Craneville Activities Fund through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass 01247 which is in charge of arrangements.
