Anna Toniatti Obituary

Anna l. Toniatti 1921 - 2008 NORTH ADAMS Anna l. Toniatti, 87, of 5 Hunt St., Bennington, Vt., a former longtime resident of North Adams, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Centers for Living and Rehab in Bennington. Born in Albany, N.Y., on April 23, 1921, a daughter of Albert H. and Dorothy Woods Roch, she spent her childhood in North Bennington, where she attended schools and graduated from the North Bennington High School. Following her graduation, she moved to North Adams. Anna worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. for over 30 years until her retirement. Anna was also a volunteer Gray Lady at North Adams Regional Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2007, when she moved to Bennington. Volunteering was Anna's passion and she was always willing and eager to help wherever needed. In March, Anna was honored by NARH staff, co-workers, friends, and family at a celebration in recognition of her service in which it was noted that she had logged 14,581 hours of volunteer work. Co-workers referred to Anna as a kind, sweet, caring spirit who was loved by all. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. Her husband, Louis Toniatti, whom she met in North Adams and married in 1951, died Nov. 2, 1990. She leaves a brother, Dr. John Roch, and his wife, Kay, of New Jersey; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" White of Bennington; a sister-in-law, Florina DiVirgilio of Pittsfield; a brother- and sister-in-law, Al and Lee Toniatti of Poestenkill, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, including Patricia Waters and William Roberts of North Bennington, Vt., grandnieces and grandnephews, including a godson, Scott Woodward of Syracuse, N.Y., and a great-grandniece. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Anna Toniatti will be Friday Aug. 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. with the Rev. Irene Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview cemetery in North Bennington, Vt. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to North Adams Regional Hospital in care of the funeral home.

Anna was a wonderfull person.I worked with her atN.A.R.H. when I was an assistant to the manager for volunteers.You her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of all of her friends through volunteer service with Northern Berkshire Healthcare, I wish to offer condolences to Anna's family. Anna will always be remembered for her generous, caring ways and warm smile. We are so grateful for her dedication to North Adams Regional Hospital and the 37 wonderful years she spent volunteering with us. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
