Mary Fanny Quinn

Mary Fanny Quinn 1912-2008 NORTH ADAMS Mary Fanny Quinn, 96, of 150 Ashland St., North Adams, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Sweetbrook Care Center. Born in North Adams on June 10, 1912, a daughter of Salvatore Fanny and Francesca Mazzotta Fanny, she attended schools in North Adams. In her younger years, she worked at the Gale Shoe Co and J.J. Newberry. She was last employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for over 30 years. She also worked in the kitchen at the former Green Mountain Race Track. Mrs. Quinn was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was a former member of the Sprague Bowling Team. She was also a member of the Jollee Circle and the Ashland Park Tenants Assoc. She enjoyed dancing. On August 23, 1992, she received a special recognition from the city of North Adams for good citizenship and humanitarianism. She was the widow of Leo "Jack" Quinn, who died on May 25, 1972. They were married on April 26, 1930. She leaves a daughter, Nancy C. English, of North Adams; three grandchildren, Darrell K. English and Terri English-Murach of North Adams; and Lt. Col. Lance English, U.S. Army of Frederick, Md.; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Shannon, Ryan, Sean, Tabatha, Travis, and Nicholas; a sister, Celeste Niece of Williamstown; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Thomas English; and three sisters, Olympia Catelotti, Arvilla Williams, and Rose Lampiasi. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mary Quinn will be Saturday August 30, 2008 at 10 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
