Elaine Skubel Obituary

Elaine Skubel 1933 - 2008 ADAMS Elaine Skubel, 75, of 5 Water St., died Tuesday morning, Aug. 26, 2008, at her home. Born in Adams on May 26, 1933, daughter of Melvin W. and Blanche Gorczyca Noel, she attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School in 1951. After attending secretarial school, Mrs. Skubel went to work as a secretary for the former Sprague Electric Co, in North Adams for over 20 years. She then became a homemaker. Mrs. Skubel was a communicant of the parish of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs and St. Thomas Aquinas. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years. Her husband, Thaddeus "Teddy" Skubel, whom she married Dec. 26, 1951, died Feb. 28, 2005. She leaves two grandchildren, Rebecca Skubel of Boston, and Josh Skubel of New York City; one brother, Richard Noel and his wife, Marie, of Adams; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary and Steve Nowicki of Adams, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Gary Skubel; by a brother, Melvin J. Noel, and by a sister, Diane Degere. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Elaine Skubel will take place Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours for family and friends will take place Saturday from 10 until the time of the service. Donations in her memory can be made to the Adams Ambulance through the funeral home.
