Louis Harold "Duke" Roy Jr. NORTH ADAMS Louis Harold "Duke" Roy Jr., 85, of 385 Eagle St. died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Williamstown Commons.Born in North Adams on July 5, 1923, a son of Louis A. Roy and Frances Noel Roy, he attended schools in North Adams, including the former St. Joseph's High School. Mr. Roy was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was last employed by the former Waverly Fabrics Co. in Adams. Before that, he worked at the former Arnold Print Works and the LL Brown Paper Mill. Mr. Roy was an accomplished bowler and won numerous events. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. His wife, the former Doris Perreault, whom he married July 24, 1948, died September 1969. He leaves one daughter, Gloria Felix and her husband, Charles, of North Adams; two grandchildren, Steven Felix and Colin Felix of North Adams; a brother, James Roy of Adams; a sister, Nancy Guerino of North Adams, and nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Louis "Duke" Roy will be Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at 10:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steven and Colin Felix Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
